Download: Willie Brown - Ichiban Sound in 3D

Willle Brown Ichiban Sound in 3D

Regular readers will have seen and heard the above already. Regular readers with superior music taste will be as excited as we were to see that the full length record from the Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q & Black Hippy associated producer has been released.

Now, it’s lazy, and possibly sacrilegious, to make Dilla comparisons, but they’re hard to avoid in this case. The sheer finesse, detail and beautiful subtlety of this record really does allow and encourage those kind of associations.

Click the picture above to go to his Bandcamp page, where you can preview another track and download the album for the princely sum of $9.

We guarantee it’ll be the best $9 you spent since that time you got that hand-job off that suspect looking hooker, during that time of your life that you don’t like to talk about.

Audio: Hyp 069 - Alexander Nut

Seriously heavyweight mix from our friends at Hyponik, as they call in Eglo Records boss Alexander Nut to lay down an exclusive 90 minute influence set ahead of Eglo’s 3rd birthday at fabric on March 8th.

Download here, and check the tracklist after the jump.

Mixtape: Luck-One & Dekk: Beautiful Music Pt. 2

We must have slept on Pt. 1, as Luck-One and Dekk are new names on us. Great things were clearly brewing while we snoozed, as this, on first impressions, sounds to be truly special. Luck-One has a truly original flow, Dekk provides some deep, beautiful beats. The originality is framed by true traditional hip hop, the result is highly addictive, from-the-soul, excellence.

Take a cost-free chance and download by click either picture above.

Video: ScienZe & King I Devine - Enjoy Tonight

ScienZe King I Devine Enjoy Tonight

The first ever Musikal post was ScienZe and now we done come full circle.

This is the first from an upcoming joint project with King I Devine, called Enjoy Tonight

Download this track for free, here, and hear more from the criminally under-rated ScienZe, here.

Stream: Blu - UCLA (Prod. Madlib)

Out of absolutely nowhere, Blu releases a 15 track album produced by Madlib. Imagine the hype that could have been.

Guest vocals from the likes of Med, Jimetta Rose, Jack Spade, Bub Watts & Co$$. Stream and buy above.

(Apologies to the more sexually reserved of you for the naughty picture above, we just work with what we’re given).

Edit- As you’ll see, this was pulled fairly quickly. And Stones Throw are saying Madlib had nothing to do with it. Curiouser and curiouser.

Video: Atmosphere - Became

Everything Atmosphere do is interesting, this video is certainly no exception to that.

From October 2011 to January 2012 a music video was collaboratively made for the song “Became” by Atmosphere. The goal was to create an engaging educational experience with students as the focal point. The result, a collaboration story with The Minnesota School of Business, MTS Digital Media Academy, Rhymesayers Entertainment, Visumm Media, Alex Horner Pictures, Hickey Photography, Hanson Creative Group, Justin Staggs, Jeremy Wanek, Tom Okins, Nick Mihalevich, and Cinequipt. Audio: Redman - Just Don’t Give A Fuck (Freestyle)

Freestyles are usually just so ten a penny that we’re loath to feature them.

But Redman goes hard as fuck on this Eminem remix.

Video: The Cool Kids - Rush Hour Traffic

The Cool Kids’ album of last year, When Fish Ride Bicycles, was, it seemed, unfairly overlooked in ‘best of 2011’ lists. It was an immediately accessible, fun and witty album that Musikal is still spinning regularly now.

This, premièred by XXL just moments ago, is a very classy video for it’s opening track.

Audio: JJ DOOM - Banished

DOOM is back with yet another collaboration, this time with Jneiro Jarel.

This is the first we’ve heard from their Key To The Kuffs project, due May this year. It comes ahead of a Boiler Room session the pair are doing on February 21st.

Audio: Slum Village - Tell Me (Previously Unreleased)

A previously unreleased Dilla-era SV joint for your delectation.

More details, by way of bling47.com, here.

Video: DTMD - Raw (Feat. Godly MC & Kev Brown)

Visuals for one of the standouts from their excellent album, last year’s Makin’ Dollas (available here).

We highly recommend this, as with everything from Mello Music Group.

Audio: Waga 3000 - Dal Fo Yi Kin Dao (Rester Fort et Combatif)

lungu lungu

A Musikal first, hip-hop from the tiny West African nation of Burkina Faso.

Pre-this, my favourite thing about Burkina Faso was the incredible title of it’s capital, Ouagadougou.

Press play, then download, and brace yourself for brilliantly tight production and an unrelenting, driving, gigantic beat.

Video: Action Bronson, Rockie Fresh & Macie Stewart - Dear Heather

Loveable fatty Action Bronson teams up with Rockie Fresh and Macie Stewart as part of the Closed Sessions series.

Heartfelt lyrics from Bronson as always, like “I love your pussy-lips the fatness and the shape of them / and plus they’ve got a little shake to them…”

Video: Dotropolis - Baboon Face (Prod. Flying Lotus)

dotropolis baboon face

The talented Chicago emcee’s new joint compete with the Fly-Lo treatment.

You can download the track, here.

Video: SomeWhere Else - Bunkers

somewhere else bunkers

We love it when a new name comes along and postively commands your aural attention. LA based hip-hop collective SomeWhere Else have done just that.

The above is from their forthcoming full length, The Swem. More news on that when we get it.
